The xbox is selling roughly the sme if not more in Europe than America - slightly off the ps3 but not by far. Infact both the ps3 and 360 are doing well in Europe ( compared to Japan atleast). Shame for them that the wii is accelerating in sales and won't be caught.
to the guy above 10,000 a week for the ps3 is NOT alot and its a shame to see it struggling. The wii is generally at 40-50,000 a week around the same level the ps2 sold at. But Japan is all about the handhelds now - the ds has already outsold the ps2 despite been out no where near as long and the psp has had a second life in 2008. But for the ps3 and 360 Japan is fight that isn't important compared to Europe and North America.

MGS4 has sold brilliantly but it has not shipped 3.94 million! If they actually read the report from konami they would know MGS4 shipped 'just over 3 million' with the 3.94 number coming from the metal gear series - eg. the psp game (maybe a ps2 one aswell i'm not sure).

the 360 still has by far the best overall library to potential buyers. LBP however is the golden egg for sony - if its good then it will move many more consoles than any other ps3 exclusive this year and prolly until FF13 hits. I think it is really underrated on this site - games such as resistance 2 I don't see as such big system sellers - that demographc is no who sony needs to target to improve sales.

banjo is not a microsoft ip. Developed by rare banjo made his debut on NINTENDO's N64. Although im pretty sure the character is owned by rare - why the new banjo is on the xbox as microsoft bought the rare development team from nintendo.
Its not amazing but still pretty good. Not every ps3 owner is hardcore, i know a few people who bought it to watch blu ray movies. Its not a mainstream game and isn't as a bigger franchise as people think. Its definately increased in popularity this generation.

Metal Gear shipped 3.94 million not just mgs4. Metal Gear includes PS2 and PSP games which sold well in the lead up to the MGS4 launch.
MGS4 shipped around 3 million.
And the numbers are shipped to retailers, not sold to consumers.
But still excellent sales for MGS4, it'll push towards four million sold to consumers in the run up to christmas for sure.
